Alex Ross, Lorenzo Neil, and Sathvik Prasad Defend
Three of my PhD students successfully defended their dissertations this semester.
Alex Ross joined the group in 2020 and made important contributions to cellular network security, including work on fixing insecure system information broadcasts. Lorenzo Neil started in 2019 and focused on usable security for developers—his work on challenges with secret management tools appeared at ACM CCS this year. Sathvik Prasad joined in 2019 and studied telephone network abuse—his robocall measurement work earned a Distinguished Paper Award at IEEE S&P this year. It’s been a privilege to work with all three of them.
